Some promote products or services, and some promote a person (or personality). Still others promote a hobby or the output of a hobby of the writer. And sometimes, you will find that a blog focuses on the personal life of the writer. Those blogs are not usually for promotion – rather, they are for an anonymous outlet of thoughts.

2) Social networking: sometimes an author will come to us with 35 social networking sites. Frankly that’s about 34 too many. With the popularity of social networking lifestyle blogs growing these niche social sites are popping up everywhere. I’m not telling you not to post something there but if you are stretched too thin and can’t keep them updated, what’s the point? Personally I recommend posting to two sites: Facebook and Squidoo. Use SEO search engine marketing tools provided by the search engines. These are there to make everyone’s lives easier, yours and theirs. For example, getting an XML site map uploaded to Google’s webmaster tools does wonders for what pages of your site get crawled, and they will be crawled more often. The more your site is crawled, the higher your ranking.
Create a Support Network- Reach out to others! Support groups online and in real life can prove extremely valuable to those grieving. Just knowing that other’s are going through the same things can be extremely reassuring and comforting. Being able to commiserate with others can also be pivotal in the healing process.
