You may think the title of this blog is hyperbole but it is definitely not. Pharmacists are the last level of protection between you(or your parents, or your children, or your pets) and bad prescriptions. They are also great for recommending over the counter remedies for what ales you. On top of all of this they get to know you and can help make your medication intake more to your liking. To say Pharmacists are as important as doctors may seem like a stretch but it really is not.
Quickness: Sometimes I cringe I to think about all the time, effort and money I put into certified pharmacy tech school. Six years. Thousands of hours. Tens of thousands of dollars. Of course, the payoff has been pretty nice. At least for most people it would be considered nice. But there were times, oh were there times, when you thought about packing it in and giving it up because six years seemed so far down the road. And that was if you got through without any problems.
Most of us won’t retire for years and years, but the sooner you plan, the sooner you will be able to accomplish this goal. As you fill out your new employment paper work you will be able to determine how much you can “kick” to your 401K or other long-term savings plan. Some recommend 10%, but I would recommend the maximum amount allowed if you can afford it. You will thank yourself when you are older!
Benefits: Most of the time when you are a technician you’ll be working for larger corporations. And, as such, they are used to paying benefits for their employee’s. Sometimes the benefits are extraordinary.
Why not do the same thing for certified pharmacy tech? There are 3 main reasons why this system may or may not work. I am going to offer you 3 possible reasons. It is up to you to come up with the possible answers.
Make sure your maths is good. You should focus more efforts on your general math knowledge than any other part of the test, because it is worth the most marks. You’ll need to be able to work out doses, prescriptions and more so search online to find examples of practice questions to help you out. Always show your workings as well, because some questions earn extra marks for this.
#3) Loans – This is probably the most common method in financing your pharmacy school education. I recommend that you read the fine print closely and make sure that you understand how repaying your loans going to work after you have graduated from pharmacy school. Also, keeping all of your important paperwork in one neat portfolio will help streamline the loan application process.
