A blog is sometimes called web log or weblog. It is a type if online journal or diary, often including personal comments as well as web links and images. Many people keep a blog as a type of personal creative exercise, but you can easily use this popular online type of writing to market your business. Blogs are very popular right now and they can be a great and inexpensive way to contact more customers.
Now imagine that other people (bloggers) start jumping in the pool, splashing around like idiots and start upsetting all the other people. And, these bloggers have absolutely nothing in common with the rest of us. In fact, some of these bloggers promote “unsavory” and even immoral practices and products! They have low or no page rank, traffic from God only knows where, and pretty soon…
It will always require some effort to actually make money. This is true for every successful Internet Marketer out there, and almost any other really rich person. They had to work to get to that point and become successful. They also had the right tools and knew how to use them. You can’t be successful in anything without the right tools, and that especially goes for internet marketing. Although there’s a lot of bogus internet marketing “systems” out there, a few of those systems actually work and give you the right tools you need to be successful. One of these systems is discussed in my blog, which I’ll include a link to in the resource box. Feel free to check it out after reading this article.
This morning out of curiosity I called up these statistics, fully expecting to see hits in the low teens. People who just happened by my blog by mistake. I certainly did not expect to see a number in the hundreds coming close to a thousand hits in the period from November 2005 until the end of Jan. 2006.
OMake sure that your customers know that your blog exists. Providing some targeted advertising on the Internet is not hard. Try some link exchange programs with web sites, blogs, and ezines that have similar content to your blog. In many cases, simply providing a link to another web site can convince that web master to provide a link to your blog.
With follow me, size doesn’t always matter. If a blog has thousands and thousands of readers, that doesn’t mean it’ll be a slam dunk for you. Look at the comments section of the blog to see if people are actually providing feedback.
Use original videos or pictures to make your content seem more interesting. Most online users prefer blogs with interesting pictures and videos. This is because pictures and videos can convey messages much more effectively. Some users don’t like to read article content, but instead they like simply looking at the photos or watching videos.
Start one! You can (and will want to) build a strategy and a plan later, but if you see value for you, jump in! Go to http://blogger.com (what I use) and get started in less than five minutes for free.
